Love Is All You Need. Well, Love & Matching PJ’s!

I’ve come to view romance very differently lately. Gone are the days of negligees and garter belts (for now!). Teddy and babydoll have completely new meanings.

The most seductive thing my hubbie can do for me right now is to get up in the morning with our toddler to give me some extra sleep (swoon!)

When my husband asked me what I wanted to do for Valentine’s Day this year, I thought that nothing would make me happier than to snuggle up on the couch with some takeout and a good movie. And to go to bed early.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t do it in style. It’s just a new style.

Searching for something to give my loved ones for Valentine’s Day, I came across these “mommy & me” sets of matching pajamas. Now, I want very much for my daughter to be her own person and I continually strive not to turn her into a “mini me”. That being said, I could not resist these adorable sets from one of my favourite brands  (I love the quality of the fabric & their fun prints).  Chiara is in a real Hello Kitty phase, so I thought these would be perfect for us. And although they aren’t matching, I snapped up a set of these fun striped pjs for my hubbie because he says most men’s pjs are “boring” (and we couldn’t leave him out!).

So that’s where you’ll find us this year on the day of love, comfy and cozy in our new pj’s. What will you be doing? And more importantly, what will you be wearing??

  1. Fun! I need a new pair of PJs but I’m looking for a cross between something I could actually sleep in and something I could play around the house in. Yep, I know, I need to get dressed once in a while. #dangersofworkingfromhome

Love this post, Laura, and I’m all for curling up with a good film instead of going out for the perfunctory Valentine’s Day Dinner. My husband calls Valentine’s Day socially enforced romance. Uh, oh, I feel a blog post coming on. . .

  2. As couple with 20 years of companionship, most of our foreplay (ooh, can I say that here?) involves kindness and acts of service like bringing the other a hot meal on a lap tray while binge-watching Netflix. We refer to our PJs as “loungewear”. And now I’m thinking that new jammieswill help “set the mood” at our house :)

  3. I’ll tell ya, I am all about the stay-in date. Especially the “go to bed early” part of it! And there’s nothing better than a comfy pair of jammies to crawl into to make lounging around for the evening more enjoyable.
